What you’ll do at work

Your core responsibility will be to provide a high quality service to our customers.

  • Sales - to increase sales through the conversion of incoming phone and email sales enquiries
  • Outbound - qualifying new customers as well as contacting old customers. Small outbound campaigns to help generate business
  • Enquiries- to complete quotation enquiries and return in the agreed timescale, ensuring good communication throughout the process

The Apprentice will be responsible for coordinating the materials and production needs necessary for timely product assembly and delivery. This position encompasses three key areas: Material Panning, Production Planning and Logistics Coordinating.

What you’ll do at work

Responsibilities you will learn to undertake:

  • Ensure parts and materials are available to support production plans in all areas of manufacturing and create and maintain supplier schedules and expedite parts and materials.
  • Create production schedules and prioritise Works orders for production optimisation. Release and maintain Works Orders and prepare any other documents required for production.
  • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process and inventory.
  • Ensure all logistics paperwork raised, bookings of stock movements in and out of the company and stores are completed accurately and timely.
  • Plan, review and maintain stock levels through planning of perpetual stock counts.
  • Interact with the relevant manufacturing manager on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information such as staff availability (Sickness, leave, etc).
  • Maintain all planning parameters in the MRP systems to ensure parts and materials are scheduled to include time necessary for internal testing and quality assurance etc.
  • Ensure inventory is appropriately identified, labelled and placed into stock in accordance with standard operating processes.
  • Provide accurate and timely management reporting of KPIs.
  • Continually seek improvements relative to inventory and supply, and make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve methods.
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards for all incoming materials are fully communicated and understood.
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as required by the business.

What you’ll do at work

  • Produce CAD drawings in 2D and 3D, using Peps and Visi, for customers and the tooling factories. Create the CAM programs, using PEPS, for the UK factory to manufacture the tooling
  • Discuss customer requirements directly with them via telephone and email
  • Many customers will send us their part drawings to understand what they need to manufacture. Very often we will need to call the customer to clarify issues
  • Evaluate solutions and costs for customer enquiries
  • For punch tooling there is often more than one solution for the manufacturing of the product and also limitations as to what can be produced. Possible solutions need to be discussed with our customers explaining the cost / benefits
  • Discuss tooling technicalities and solutions with the factoryUnderstanding the manufacturing process that our factory
  • uses to make the tooling – discuss manufacturing issues with the factory staff
  • Discuss directly with overseas factories the UK customer tooling requirements
  • Discuss with the French and Japanese factories any technical issues and delivery problems that might occur
  • Produce technical quotations for the proposed solutions for customers
  • Complete tooling quotations including technical specification, drawings and pricing for our demanding customers
  • Learn the basic programming language for the Amada Turret Punch Press
  • Learn how to create simple programs, using machine programming language to run the Amada Turret Punch Presses
  • Produce samples and complete tests for punch tooling in the Amada showroom
  • Using basic programming skills test punch tools to prove concept or to understand issues that have been experienced
  • Produce samples of specific tools designs for customers to appreciate and understand the concept

FSE, our machines are shipped internationally and we work closely with F1 and the Aerospace industry, being the UK’s oldest swarf management company offering bespoke concepts on coolant filtrations.

What you’ll do at work

Our Welder / Fabricator apprentices will be trained up to manufacture filter drum assemblies, utilising mid and tig welding and fabrication manufacturing to work within tight tolerances and deadlines for production requirements, with development towards full fabricator training working from technical drawings to build bespoke swarf management machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Time keeping and attendance working 39 hours per week
  • Work closely with fabrication supervisor to manufacture filter drum assemblies.
  • Utilising skills developed to manufacture drums to the correct width and specification.
  • Working to deadlines set by production requirements
  • Being an active member of the fabrication team, developing skills and knowledge

  • We are seeking a motivated and dedicated apprentice to join our dynamic team
  • During the first two years, as you work towards obtaining your apprenticeship qualifications, we will assess the areas in which you may excel
  • You will learn all about our equipment with training provided onsite and at our HQ in Italy. A second language in French or Italian would be useful, but not essential

  • During your training, you will be expected to assist other engineers on-site across the UK. Therefore, you must be prepared to undertake regional assignments as required
