Engineering

The role initially will primarily focus on the service and repair of machinery within our workshop once confident with the equipment, this will then expand into offering technical support to our customer base and contract engineers either remotely or in field.
What you’ll do at work
An average week in the role will consist mainly of the servicing and repairs of our equipment. This will take place in our workshop.
These works will include:
- Electrical and mechanical diagnostics
- Refrigeration works Inc. handling of gas and brazing repairs
- Repair and replacement of componentry including motors, compressors, electrical switchgear etc
- Full function testing of repaired machines ensuring production and signoff
In addition to this the role will eventually incorporate technical support tasks offering first line support to our customers and field engineers, via telephone or email.
There will also eventually be a requirement for the candidate to undertake onsite work for diagnostic or repair duties. This will be infrequent but a willingness to travel is key.

An excellent opportunity working for an established metal fabrication and welding company in our busy workshop based at Rotherwas Industrial Estate, Hereford.
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You will be working with the rest of our team in our workshop and occasionally on site at our client’s premises. Duties include:
- Fabricating items such as small brackets through to larger structural items such as platforms
- Working on bespoke items for customers e.g tanks, pipework, handrails, staircase, shutters, gates and balustrades
- Training under supervision on machinery such as CNC Plasma cutting machine, powder coating, shot blasting, lathes, tubes, pipe bending, powered rollers and press brake
- Occasional general line maintentance for bottling industry and installations on construction sites

Securcom is a family run business, and we have been providing Electrical Installations within the agricultural industry for the last 36 years. We also Install Solar PV and CCTV. We are looking for an Apprentice engineer to work alongside one of the company’s Senior Engineers in a development role here at Securcom.
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Assisting Senior Electricians with:

- We always like to get our apprentices to be hands on whenever possible, so trial welding/fabricating would be offered, under guidance
