First Aid and Wellbeing Trainer

Herefordshire & Worcestershire Group Training Association is seeking a passionate First Aid & Wellbeing Trainer. The role will involve the development and delivery of accredited First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid and First Aid at Work Requalification courses. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to deliver Fire Safety and Manual Handling training.  

We are now looking for a new member of staff to join our Management and Workforce Development Team on a part-time basis of 18.5 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

  • The delivery of both accredited and non-accredited training programmes to a broad and varied audience.
  • Occasional travel to customer premises across Herefordshire and Worcestershire although most training will take place in our offices in Holmer Road, Hereford and McKenzie Way, Worcester.
  • Assisting with the design of new and the refresh of existing course content including lesson plans, course programmes, presentations and other course materials as required and to meet the needs of our customers, awarding bodies and the business.
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of customers and staff whilst at work and follow company policies and procedures at all times.

Essential Criteria:

  • An accredited, certified First Aid Trainer Previous experience teaching / training to a wide variety of business sectors and learners.
  • Ability to work flexibly including occasional Saturdays and evenings.
  • Organised and punctual, an accommodating and flexible approach, ability to be creative, and to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and experience of developing, updating lesson plans and programmes

Desirable Criteria:

  • PTLLS, AET or equivalent training qualification.
  • Experience / knowledge of health and safety.
  • A certified Fire Warden & Awareness Trainer.
  • A certified Manual Handling Trainer.
  • Knowledge / experience of leadership and management.
  • Experience in assessing and working with awarding bodies.
  • A willingness to take on board new challenges and acquire new, relevant skills.

  • Hold a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of the assessment process (IQA), Level 3 in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent.
  • Possess good communication, verbal and written skills.
  • Confidence when working with all people.
  • Have the ability to deliver excellent levels of service, both to existing and new businesses.
  • Hold relevant qualifications to support occupational competence.
