Assertiveness

Most employees encounter difficult situations and difficult people on a daily basis. Such situations often lead to unacceptable levels of stress and may be counterproductive. Adopting a more appropriate style of behaviour can produce surprising benefits. The course trains delegates on harnessing the power of the mind to act, think and speak in a firm and fair manner. On this day delegates will identify what personality style they have and how best to increase their confidence in all work situations. By the end of the day there will be a clear understanding of what assertiveness is and how to employ it in the workplace to maximise effectiveness and enjoyment.

At the end of the workshop delegates will be able to:

  • Understand their own personal style
  • Defuse difficult situations
  • Disagree without anxiety and stress
  • Avoid conflict and achieve a workable compromise
  • Recognise and respond to unacceptable behaviour
  • Communicate in an open style
  • Use a variety of assertive techniques
