Junior Football Thriving in Herefordshire

At HWGTA, we’re proud to support the development of young talent—both on and off the pitch. As long-standing main sponsors of the Herefordshire Junior Football League, including the Under-16 League and Cup awards, we’re committed to helping grassroots football flourish across the county.

The League recently celebrated its 47th season, with exciting cup finals hosted at Edgar Street for the younger age groups and Westfields FC for the Under-13s to Under-16s. With 30 clubs, over 200 teams, and nearly 3,000 young players taking part in league and cup competitions from Under-7s to Under-16s, the League continues to grow year after year.

In line with FA guidance, the League has embraced smaller pitch formats and non-published results for younger age groups—keeping the focus firmly on enjoyment and development. It has also introduced an indoor Futsal programme during the winter months at Point4 in Hereford, ensuring teams can keep playing even when the weather turns.
