HWGTA Welcomes Jesse Norman MP for Discussions on Apprenticeships and Business Growth
We were delighted to welcome Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, to HWGTA today, where he was hosted by our Chief Executive, Nigel Morgan. During the visit, Jesse met with Stuart Taylor, Senior Group Engineering & Quality Manager of HR Smith, one of HWGTA’s long standing employer partners, to discuss the vital role apprenticeships play in developing local talent and supporting business growth across the county.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the skills challenges employers continue to face, the importance of investing in future talent and how apprenticeships help create sustainable career pathways while addressing local workforce needs.
Jesse also met accountancy and engineering apprentices from a range of local employers, hearing first hand about their experiences, career ambitions and the positive impact apprenticeships are having on their professional development. Apprenticeships remain a key driver of economic growth, productivity and social mobility within Herefordshire and beyond.
Thank you to Jesse for taking the time to visit, to Stuart for supporting the discussion from an employer perspective and to all the apprentices who helped showcase the outstanding opportunities being created through apprenticeships in our region.
