Intermediate Excel
This course is aimed at delegates who already have a basic working knowledge of Excel, including navigating a workbook, applying simple formatting, and constructing straightforward formulas (as covered in the Excel Foundations course). It builds on that foundation to address the more demanding tasks Excel is regularly called upon to perform in a business setting.
Across six structured modules, delegates are introduced to lookup and reference functions such as:
- Lookup and reference functions, including VLOOKUP
- Conditional functions, including COUNTIF and IF-based logic
- Building and interpreting pivot tables
- Working across multiple worksheets and linking data between them
- Identifying and correcting errors and inconsistencies in data
- Applying conditional formatting to highlight patterns and exceptions
- Structuring larger, more complex spreadsheets for reliability
- Practical techniques for validating and reconciling figures
Each function is introduced only once a genuine need for it has been established, and all learning is applied directly through realistic, hands-on exercises. By the end of the course, delegates will be able to work confidently with more complex spreadsheets and extract meaningful information from them without relying on others.
