Apprentices can be recruited all year round, with the exception of those on an Accountancy programme who will follow an academic timetable.
The recruitment process will be managed by HWGTA on your behalf, including initial assessment testing and interview. There is no additional charge for this service. Once these steps have been completed details of our applicants are then ready for you to view – we will send you details of those who are best suited to your vacancy based on job description, results of the assessment tests, location etc. If, however, you would prefer to visit our premises to see the applicant details then this can be arranged.
If you wish to interview any of our applicants, this would normally take place on your company premises, however, if required arrangements can be made for you to carry out the interview process at a HWGTA site (a HWGTA health and safety check of your company premises must be completed before an applicant visits your site).
It is worth bearing in mind that we receive the majority of applications between the months of March and August (predominantly school and college leavers). If you are successful in recruiting during this ‘main intake’ period, we anticipate your apprentice will start work within your organisation during August / September.
If you have already recruited your apprentice(s) independently of HWGTA you can refer them to us for the training element of their role. They will still be required to undertake our initial assessment tests as these ensure suitability for the programme and may highlight any areas where additional support or tuition may be required.
