In addition to time spent in the Training Centre, HWGTA staff monitor progress and performance through regular visits to the workplace.  Additional visits can be made on request or if additional support is needed. HWGTA staff are also available via telephone and e-mail.

HWGTA value Supervisor involvement and consider it crucial to your apprentice’s development, so we recommend supervisor attendance and feedback at as many review visits as possible.  At minimum however, an apprentice supervisor must be seen at least quarterly by the monitoring officer.

To assist you in supporting an apprentice in your workplace, HWGTA can offer a member of your team, who will be working with the pprentice, free apprentice supervisor training, including coaching and mentoring training, where appropriate.  NVQ Assessor qualifications can also be gained at a discounted price.
