Stroke Awareness ½ day ***new course for 2017***

Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at all health care workers, from those who may be new to those wishing to refresh / extend their existing stroke knowledge and skills. The Stroke Awareness aims to build on your understanding of what it means for someone to have a stroke and your caring experience. The course will suggest lots of ideas about how you can help people in your care during and after a stroke.

Do you need previous experience or qualifications to attend this course?

No previous experience or qualifications required.

Course Content

 

  • Brain attack! What a stroke is
  • Risk factors for strokes
  • Difference between a transient ischaemic attack (TIA) and cerebrovascular accident (CVA)
  • Assessment, treatment and care after a stroke in the UK
