Who is this course aimed at?

A two day 'practical' workshop aimed at anyone involved in the inspection and testing of portable electrical equipment. 17th & 18th September 2019

Do you need previous experience or qualifications to attend this course?

This course is aimed at nPat Testingew starters to the testing of portable electrical equipment with minimal electrical knowledge.

Course Content

The Legal Requirment to Test: - Class 1, II and III appliances - Safety Risks & Typical Faults - Frequency of Testing - Earth Bond Resistance Tests - Insulation Resistance Tests - Earth Leakage & Touch Current - Load / Run Testing - HV Flash Testing - Yes or No? - Testing Office PC's & IT Equipment

Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide each candidate with the skills and knowledge sufficient to achieve the level 3 certificate and be able to complete PAT testings confidently and competently. The course includes both theory elements and a practical elements, covering everything necessary to successfully achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 examination, with certification awarded to successful candidates.  

Assessment

A practical assessment is carried out so that you can demonstrate your ability to safely carry out relevant tests on portable equipment.The examination is a 1 hour 45 minute multiple choice, open book PC based examination with instant results.
