This award is our version of the Oscars’ Lifetime Achievement Award and as such it is only awarded when we have someone outstanding.
We have always recognised that the many accolades we win are a reflection of the quality of our Apprentices, but we also recognise the fact that without supportive employers the Apprenticeship programme simply could not exist. Even more certain is the fact that it is often key individuals within a company who ensure the continued success of the Apprenticeship programme through their personal commitment and support for both the Association and the young people.
Zoe maintains strong links with the Apprenticeship programme and relations with WGTA, following her own experiences as an Apprentice. In the last 10 years they have supported approximately 23 Apprentices in their organisation.
She encourages and supports the Apprenticeship programme to other staff in the organisation, standing up for the programme and gaining others ‘buy in’. She has also helped in the ’re homing’ of Apprentices that have suffered redundancy from other organisations.
She is a consistent point of contact for any Apprentice query and personally monitors and takes a vested interest in the Apprentices within the business, no matter what department.
Zoe regularly attends WGTA events such as, open evenings and learner presentations, and she is always looking at ways to develop awareness of Apprenticeships for her business and the opportunities they have, as well as to maintain a steady and productive programme for Apprenticeships in the future.
