I started working at HGTA in 2006 as an engineering instructor (mechanical) and then centre coordinator. I have over 20 years’ experience in industry and completed an engineering apprenticeship at Special Metals through HGTA, and have also gained valuable experience at Bromsgrove college when I was employed as an Engineering Trainer. My current role involves monitoring and assessing engineering apprentices at their place of work, this to ensure they complete the full framework for their Advanced Apprenticeship within the timescales permitted.
I also lecture the year 2 machining cohort on the City & Guilds 2850 Mechanical Manufacturing Diploma in Engineering. This course is split 50:50 between classroom theory and practical tasks completed in our engineering workshop. I am the designated safeguarding person for our Worcester site and take part in the physical training with 1st year off the job apprentices.
